Welcome to this week’s OCPR Report,
I can’t believe it, June is over, that went by way too fast, but what is done is done there was lots of fun and the OCPR got some objectives accomplished.
The first item that needs to be addressed is that Oroville’s own self-published author, the fine writer Mr. W.T. Lackey with his charitable all be it satirical “Human Fund” will be awarded the honor of having the sign in the Adopt-a-Highway project for the next TWO YEARS! For donating $200 which was largely what allowed the OCPR to get as far as we have. He will be contacted this weekend and we will get that moving forward, so stay tuned for that!
The second item of interest is that we have gotten more work done with our helmets which by and large are the beacons of recognition to this project and I believe will help people recognize that we are something other than ordinary. My apologizes last week I failed to load the new content on the Paper Craft page so if you were one of those looking for updates and saw the same old thing that has been cleared up.
Which brings me to the next point; there has been a bit of updating going on throughout the entire site. Some of the updates are cosmetic: photos, background art, etc., but we have also started a Community Service Page. Although the page is pretty raw at this time think of it as a seed that will grow and flower into another great resource, so of course another topic to stay tuned for.
Wrapping it up there is still much to do; to give you all an idea of what’s on our plates we still need to draw and print 5 more of the seven coins, sew the jumpsuits, belts, and cuffs for both hands and legs for all seven costumes, and complete the helmets with includes Papier Mache, painting, and detailing all seven helmets.
Mind you all of this is just so that we can start the real projects! In fact just this last week I even made contact with Oroville’s Mayor Linda Dahlmeier she was campaigning for non-profit charities to donate to and while there are many fine programs that deserve support I thought it was a good as time as ever to introduce ourselves. I’ll be plastering this elsewhere but what she told me is that for every person that gets a quote from her at her All State agency she will donate $10 to the OCPR, so of course if you would get those quotes that would be great!
While we may still have a lot to do and it is not all moving as fast as I imagined, real progress is made in inches not miles and we just gained a few more inches today.
Thank you all for joining us again,
-Andy, The Red Ranger
